5 Under The Radar Beauties

 

One thing that I can say about Hollywood today, is that looks are no longer a requirement to "make it big".  Talent is actually starting to become the priority. But what happens when you have both talent and beauty and you still haven't "made it big"?

 I thought about 4 of my favorite actress's and 1 of my favorite singers that have been under the radar for quite some time.

Jurnee Smollett started off as a child actor. I remember seeing her on a few episodes of full house, and then she hit the big screen with her starring role in Eve's Bayou. There were other shows she did in between Full house and Eve's Bayou, including her own sitcom with her real life brothers and sister. Jurnee stayed busy with small parts on t.v. and in films, until starring in The Great Debaters in 2007. Jurnee has grown from and adorable child to a beautiful woman with a great talent. So why has Hollywood kept her under the radar? Check for Jurnee in Tyler Perry's upcoming film The Marriage Counselor.

Jennifer Freeman who is best known for her role as Claire Kyle on My Wife and Kids, but has also had roles in films such as You Got Served and Johnson Family Vacation. Freeman has been keeping busy with small roles in and motherhood. Will Hollywood keep her under the radar?

The first time I noticed Joy Bryant was Antwone Fisher, although she obviously had other roles before that movie. It seemed like after her role in Antwone Fisher she was gracing the screen more often and her Hollywood star was starting to glimmering. Joy has kept busy in roles on film and television. Her latest role is on the t.v. series  Parenthood

This Canadian born beauty first hit the scene in 1994 with her single You Put A Move On My Heart. Tamia has had 5 albums (all 5 I own) including a greatest hits. Tamia peaked with her second and best selling album to date A Nu Day. The second single from that album which was A Stranger In My House went to number ten on the Billboard Hot 100, number three on the Billboard R&B chart and to number one for 10 weeks on the Billboard Hot Dance chart. My personal favorite album from Tamia is Between Friends.Tamia is set to release a new album entitled Beautiful Surprise February 2012. Yes I'm excited. Hopefully this album won't go under the radar like the others.

I first noticed this beauty in 2003 in the film Deliver Us From Eva. However Robinne Lee has been on the scene since 1997. Her talent and beauty also made great for the leading lady role in Usher's confession video. Robinne has 4 post production films in progress now. Hopefully one f these roles will get her from under the radar.
