Family, Friends, and The Obama's Say A Final Farewell To Heavy D

Dwight Arrington Myers but more respectfully know as Heavy D was laid to final rest today. The Jamaican born Actor,Rapper, Record Producer, and Singer passed away on November 8, 2011.His family says it was due to complications from pneumonia.
Celebrity's poured into Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, NY to share their memories, and words of encouragement. Will Smith, Jay -Z, Queen Latifah, and a very emotional Johnny Gill were just a few of the many celebrities in attendance. Of course no black function would be legit if Rev Al Sharpton is not in the midst. The Obama's were even there (in spirit) and on paper. Rev Sharpton read a letter that was delivered from President Obama and First Lady Michelle " We extend our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. He will be remembered for his infectious optimism and many contributions to American music. Please know that you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers."
Xea Myers, Heavy D's 11-year-old daughter, also briefly spoke, telling the audience that her father was "still here, not in the flesh, but in the spirit."

Johnny Gill was able to belt out a very powerful rendition of  "Never would have made it" also Yolanda Adams and Anthony Hamilton performed. Diddy spoke candidly about his friendship/brotherhood with the self proclaimed "Over Weight Lover".

I was able to Round Up a few pictures. Check them out after the break
